The Why

Clay remembers everything—every touch, every mistake, every hesitation. That’s why I love it. It insists on honesty, cracking if you rush it, slumping if you overwork it, and holding onto every mark, intentional or not. Working with clay has shaped me as much as I’ve shaped it. It became a vehicle to move me out of toxic spaces and into a life I never dreamed possible.

There was a time when my creative practice slowed—depression dimmed my connection to making. But just like clay, I learned that I could endure great forces and emerge anew from the fires. The discipline of returning to my work, even in small ways, became part of finding my way back to myself.

I balance skill and play to create objects that nourish both the body and the imagination. My forms echo the undulations of body, earth, time, and space—voluptuous, amorphous, full of breath. I hope my work sparks curiosity, a playful dialogue between your essence and the present self.

Nothing humbles me more than hearing how someone still uses and cherishes one of my pieces. Knowing my work lives on in daily rituals—bringing comfort, joy, or even just a moment of pause—affirms why I create.
