About the Artist
Jordan King
"I explore the materiality of clay, balancing skill and play to create items that nourish our bodies and imagination.
My forms exemplify the reverberating undulations of body, earth, time and space.
They are voluptuous, amorphous, full of breath, with no beginning or end. Each piece is a world of its own, enticing people to explore the object with sight, touch, and sound.
Let my work be a catalyst to engage the mind in a playful brainstorm between the inner child and the present self.
Habitual imagination keeps the mind limber, humor strong, and ready to take on the infinite possibilities of life."
Jordan began working with clay at Community College of Baltimore County in Maryland in 2013. She moved to Maine to earn a BFA in Ceramics at Maine College of Art (now Maine College of Art & Design) in 2019. Currently, she works out of Running With Scissors Studio in Portland, ME.
